The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence
demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant
Maintenance provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in the maintenance
and repair of construction plant and equipment to demonstrate their competence.
The awarding body for these qualifications is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory
body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). The specification
for these qualifications has been approved by the Welsh Government for use by centres in
Wales and by the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) for use
by centres in Northern Ireland.
This qualification has been accredited onto the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)
and it provides a progression route to discipline related qualifications in the construction
sector.

Bookings made by phone or email are provisional only. We must receive a completed booking form and 50% of the qualification fee before we will register any learner with the awarding body.
The remaining balance for the qualification will be invoiced eight weeks from enrolment.
If your employer is registered with CITB they may be able to apply for a grant to cover the cost of your NVQ.
Candidates must be employed and experienced in a role that allows them to demonstrate the required skills. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to provide a copy of your ID. Once this has been received, you can start the qualification on the same day.
A portfolio of evidence is collated with support from an allocated assessor to demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. Evidence can include:

Cranes and Specialist Lifting
Preparing and operating excavator cranes to lift and transfer loads in the workplace
This qualification is designed for operatives who use excavators as lifting machines to lift, move and place loads safely in the workplace. It confirms occupational competence and is assessed entirely through work-based evidence, with no classroom exams.
The qualification supports application for the CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card (subject to CITB/CSCS requirements)
