Intended for those who have or are about to move into a supervisory role in the construction and civil engineering industries. The CITB SSSTS course aims to provide new and existing supervisors with a strong knowledge of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, and help them understand their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. The SSSTS course also highlights the requirement to promote Health & Safety and to supervise effectively.

This course is part of the nationally recognised CITB Site Safety Plus scheme and is mandatory for all persons with supervisory responsibilities on BuildUK sites.

Fast-Track Site Safety Training for Busy Supervisors

For supervisors juggling multiple sites and tight deadlines, stepping away for long periods of training is not always realistic. Our SSSTS course is designed with that in mind, offering a focused and efficient way to strengthen site supervision without disrupting project progress.

Rather than being heavy on theory, the course concentrates on what actually matters on site. It gives supervisors practical, workable knowledge that can be applied immediately to improve supervision, communication and overall site control.

In many cases, issues on site do not start big. They develop gradually through small gaps in supervision or unclear expectations. This training helps address that by ensuring supervisors fully understand their responsibilities and apply standards consistently. The result is clearer communication, fewer avoidable issues, and stronger decision making across live projects.

Because the training is delivered in a structured and time-efficient format, it fits around busy workloads while still delivering real value. Supervisors who complete the course often notice

quick improvements in how their teams operate on site, particularly in maintaining safer, more controlled working environments.

Complete your SSSTS course with Prime Consultancy Group and gain practical supervision skills that help you reduce risk, improve performance, and manage site responsibilities with greater confidence.

CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Course

Our CITB Temporary Works Coordinator course is for those that are designated as the site Temporary Work Coordinator.

This Temporary Works Coordinator course is designed to give confidence to senior management by providing delegates with thorough knowledge of what the role entails, the processes involved and the roles of others who design and supervise temporary works.

This course is suitable for those who have knowledge of temporary works or are an existing non-certified Temporary Works Coordinator.

The Role and Responsibilities of a Temporary Works Coordinator

A Temporary Works Coordinator is responsible for making sure temporary structures and systems are properly planned, checked, and coordinated before any work starts on site. This could be anything from scaffolding and excavations to formwork, supports, or other temporary setups needed during construction. The main focus is keeping everything organised so people are not relying on assumptions or last-minute decisions.

On a daily basis, the role usually involves:

  • Bringing together everyone involved so plans are properly understood before work begins
  • Making sure drawings, designs, and methods are checked and signed off
  • Speaking with engineers, supervisors, and site teams to keep communication clear
  • Making sure everyone knows who is responsible for what
  • Checking that temporary structures are being put up and used as intended
  • Keeping on top of paperwork and making sure nothing important gets missed
  • Spotting risks early and making sure they are dealt with before work progresses
  • Making sure any changes on site are properly communicated and understood

It’s not really about physically doing the work yourself. It’s more about staying on top of what is happening, making sure things line up properly, and stepping in when something doesn’t look quite right.

Who Benefits Most From The CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Course

Our Temporary Works Coordinator course is usually for people who already have site experience and are stepping into more responsibility, such as supervisors, site managers, or engineers. It’s not an entry-level course. It’s more about organising and overseeing work that is already happening, rather than carrying it out yourself.

Many people in these roles already understand how sites operate, but this course helps formalise that experience into a recognised responsibility. It gives structure to what is often already being done informally, making expectations clearer for both individuals and site teams.

Enrol today and gain the training needed to take on Temporary Works Coordinator responsibilities.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements or for further course availability.
