Course Description

This awareness course introduces the fundamental principles of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). Designed for individuals involved in construction planning, design, or delivery, it explains the purpose of the regulations and how they support safe and well‑managed projects.

Learners will explore CDM’s aims, key interpretations, and the roles and responsibilities of the main duty holders — including Clients, Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, and Contractors. The course also outlines the core documentation required to meet compliance and ensure effective coordination throughout a project’s lifecycle.

By the end of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of CDM’s structure and how each duty holder contributes to maintaining safety standards across construction activities
